This privacy policy (the “Privacy Policy”) applies to the website www.PMIScience.com and all documents, Web pages, and other content hosted thereon and thereunder (the “Site”). Philip Morris International Management, S.A. (“PM”) and its affiliates and service providers will operate the Site and provide and update the content on the Site.

Use of the Site is subject to your agreement with this Privacy Policy.

We respect your privacy and value the relationship we have with you. This Privacy Policy describes the types of personal information we may collect on this Site, how we may use that information, and with whom we may share it. Our Privacy Policy also describes the measures we take to protect the security of the information you provide to us and how to contact us with questions about our privacy practices.

1. Types of Information Collected

In order to customize the Site for you, and to modify and enhance the Site, we may collect two types of information about you:

“Personally Identifiable Information”: This refers to information that can be used to identify you, such as your name, address, zip code, telephone number, and e-mail address.

“Non-Personally Identifiable Information”: This refers to information that does not by itself identify a specific individual.  This information may include the Web site’s Uniform Resource Locator (“URL”) that you just came from, which URL you next go to, what Web browser you are using, and your Internet Protocol (“IP”) address.

2. Collection Methods

We and our service providers collect Personally Identifiable Information about you when you voluntarily provide it to us, including when you send email messages, submit forms, or transmit other information by telephone or letter.

You may also be able to engage with our content on or through social media services or other third party platforms, such as Facebook, or other third-party social media plug-ins, integrations and applications. When you engage with our content on or through our website, social media services or other third-party platforms, plug-ins, integrations or applications, we may have access to certain information in your profile. This may include your name, email address, photo, gender, birthday, location, and an ID associated with the applicable third-party platform or social media account user files, like photos and videos, your list of friends or connections, people you follow and/or who follow you, your posts, topics of interests, or “likes.” For a description on how social media services and other third-party platforms, plug-ins, integrations, or applications handle your information; please refer to their respective privacy policies and terms of use, which may permit you to modify your privacy settings.

In addition, we, or our service providers, may also collect certain Non-Personally Identifiable Information.

3. Use of Information

If collected, we will primarily use your Personally Identifiable Information to operate the Site and provide our services.  We will also use Personally Identifiable Information and Non-Personally Identifiable Information to improve our Site, including by enhancing the operation of our Site, statistically analyzing use of this Site, and modifying or customizing our Site’s content or layout.  We may use Personally Identifiable Information to communicate with you, including by delivering information to you and contacting you regarding administrative notices or in response to your requests.  Some of the information we deliver to you may be relevant to your location. We may also use Personally Identifiable Information to resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems; to protect our rights; to detect, prevent, and respond to possible fraud, intellectual property infringement, violations of law, or other misuse of the Site; and enforce our agreements with you, including our Terms of Use and this Privacy Policy.

Non-Personally Identifiable Information, if collected, is compiled and analyzed on both an individual and an aggregated basis.  This information may be automatically collected, for example as described in Section 7 of this Privacy Policy.

We may also use the information we collect and receive as otherwise described to you at the point of collection or with your consent.

4. Sharing of Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent your Personally Identifiable Information to third parties.  We do provide some of our services through affiliates, subsidiaries, services providers, partners and other third parties, and we may share your Personally Identifiable Information with such third parties as necessary to host and/or operate the Site (including maintaining appropriate back-ups of data) and to deliver our services.  PM implements contractual agreements with such third parties limiting the use of your Personally Identifiable Information to activities specific to the Site.

Occasionally, we may be required by law enforcement or judicial authorities to provide Personally Identifiable Information or Non-Personally Identifiable Information to the appropriate governmental authorities. We may disclose this information upon receipt of a court order or subpoena, or to respond to a request for cooperation by a government or other entity.  We fully cooperate with law enforcement agencies in identifying those who use our services for illegal activities.  We reserve the right to report to law enforcement agencies any activities that we believe in good faith to be unlawful.

5. Updating and Correcting Information
